Music and theatre events, art and image shows, and multicultural activities all offer opportunities to partner with local astronomers to create Galileo Moments.

The Victoria Symphony and Tafelmusic (Toronto) are both premiering new performances in honor of IYA in 2009.  Search the Events Calendar for more information on these and other performances.

Many people first engage with astronomy by looking at beautiful images. Many of those images are made by Canadians. A gallery of stunning images can be seen here and they are also available for display at IYA events. Special installations are going on throughout the year, including the Bay Centre Mall in Victoria during the month of February 2009, and the Victoria International Airport from February - April.  Sony Stores are generously providing high-end digital display systems for these shows.
